A Colorful, Joy-Filled Café Brauer Wedding in Chicago

Some weddings are elegant. Some are romantic. Some are wildly colorful.

And then there are weddings that somehow manage to be all three and make you want to dance.

Claire and Tucker’s Café Brauer wedding was exactly that.

Set among the trees of Lincoln Park with the Chicago skyline peeking through in the distance, their day was filled with vibrant flowers, happy tears, big celebrations, and the kind of energy you can practically feel through the photographs.

And naturally, we brought the flowers to the party.

A Bouquet With Main Character Energy

Let's start with Claire's bouquet because... look at her.

Soft peach. Punchy coral. Blushing pink. Lavender. Orange. A little bit of wildness. A whole lot of texture.

The bouquet was designed to feel abundant and romantic without becoming overly precious. We mixed lush blooms with delicate flowers, sculptural leaves, winding stems, and blooms in all different stages of opening.

There are flowers that are perfectly behaved.

And then there are flowers that make you stop scrolling.

We wanted the second kind.

The result was colorful and playful, but still incredibly romantic against Claire's ethereal white gown. The flowers brought a little heat and personality to an otherwise soft, dreamy bridal look.

Basically: the bouquet had a personality.

And we loved her for it.

Color Wasn't Just a Detail. It Was the Mood.

The bridesmaids continued the color story with bouquets filled with coral, peach, pink, purple, and orange.

Their dresses weren't all the same color either and that was exactly the point.

Instead of trying to make every single detail match, we created a floral palette that could dance between all of them. Blue, dusty rose, olive...and then those delicious pops of flower color tying everything together.

The overall effect felt collected rather than coordinated.

Personal rather than perfect.

And way more fun.

Because we're big believers that weddings don't have to be perfectly color-matched to be beautiful. Sometimes the most gorgeous celebrations happen when you let the colors flirt with each other a little.

Then Came the Ceremony

And honestly, what a view.

Claire and Tucker exchanged vows beneath the beautiful wooden structure overlooking the Nature Boardwalk, with the Chicago skyline rising behind them.

We framed the ceremony with two large floral arrangements in white urns, overflowing with the same vibrant palette.

The flowers felt lush and romantic without swallowing up the view. The skyline stayed visible. The trees stayed wild. And the flowers added that little hit of “oh, this is a WEDDING” magic.

And then they kissed.

And everyone lost it.

Which, frankly, is exactly what we're hoping for.

Café Brauer + Color = A Very Good Idea

There is something wonderfully Chicago about a Café Brauer wedding.

You've got the historic architecture, the warm wood, the greenery of Lincoln Park, the city skyline—and then suddenly, BOOM: flowers.

Bright ones.

Textured ones.

Flowers that feel a little wild and a little romantic.

Rather than trying to make the florals blend perfectly into the historic setting, we let them contrast with it.

The architecture brought structure and history.

The landscape brought softness.

And the flowers brought color, movement, and personality.

It made the whole celebration feel layered and alive.

A Wedding That Felt Like Claire & Tucker

But here's the thing we love most about this wedding:

It didn't feel like it was designed to impress everyone else.

It felt like it was designed to celebrate them.

There was so much joy packed into this day. The kind that shows up in the way your friends cheer when you kiss, the way your family looks at you walking down the aisle, the way everyone seems completely invested in your happiness.

And that's our favorite kind of wedding.

Beautiful, yes.

But joyful first.

Colorful. Romantic. Playful. A little unexpected. Completely personal.

Flowers should do more than fill a vase or look pretty in a photograph. They should help create the feeling of the day.

And Claire and Tucker's flowers were there to do exactly that.
