A core tenet of our business is sustainability. Our key material is nature itself, and we see it as our duty to help protect it! Therefore, we take an eco-friendly approach to floral design. We do this in a variety of ways, including:
Focusing on local, in-season flowers during the Midwest growing season to minimize carbon footprint
Working directly with local sustainable flower farmers
Recycling and composting waste
Communicating all invoices electronically, reducing paper use
Passing it on - we love to coordinate flower donations after events. Many of our flowers enjoy a second life at nursing homes and hospitals around the city.
Flowers by stem owner Stephanie is the Vice President of the Green Wedding Alliance, a collective of local wedding and event vendors in the Chicago area, working together to bring more eco-friendly practices to the event industry,
